Upcoming Talk: Dirk Stockmann of Siemens on How to Scale Agile Methods

We will be hosting an industry talk on “How to scale agile methods” in AMOS, our agile methods course. The talk is free and open to the public.

Abstract: There are many frameworks that promise easy scaling of agile or lean working methods. But working in large and distributed organizations is just never easy. There is always a necessary overhead for alignment and communication and with large groups, there is always conflict. In this talk, we will discuss what is required to make it work and why it is extremely rewarding to be part of a team that covers several time zones and languages. The topics will range from social behavior to metrics to tools and will be explained with concrete, real-life examples.

Speaker: Dirk Stockmann is the Head of R&D and has many years of experience in leading software development organizations that deliver complex software solutions for today’s smart infrastructure. Software that is important for people and society, like fire alarm system, command and control centers for first respondents and grid control system. During his career, he transformed several organization to become faster and more agile while increasing quality and customer satisfaction at the same time. He is passionate about customer-centric, value-driven decision-making and continuous, relentless improvement.
