Upcoming Talk: Manjusha Pattadkal & Julian Gleißner of XITASO on Data Engineering and AI

We are pleased to announce the upcoming exclusive industry talk on “Data Engineering” in MADE, our Methods of Advanced Data Engineering course:

  • by: Ms. Manjusha Pattadkal & Mr. Julian Gleißner, XITASO
  • about: Data Engineering and AI
  • on: January 23rd, 2025, 14:15 Uhr
  • on: Zoom (link after registration)
  • as part of: MADE

Abstract: Artificial Intelligence has become ubiquitous in today’s technological landscape due to its strong generalization capabilities. This enables applying similar methods and models to a wide range of problems. However, treating AI models as off-the-shelf, black-box solutions severely limits their potential. In our talk “A recipe for training neural networks” we will explore a systematic approach to training an AI model proposed by Andrej Karpathy, the Co-founder of OpenAI, that we aspire to follow in our research to maximize the performance of AI models. We will contrast this idealistic view with the reality of delivery projects, which often have to cope with financial and time constraints.

Speakers:

Manjusha Pattadkal, Data Scientist at XITASO since 2022

Manjusha Pattadkal is an experienced Data Scientist with a Master’s in Data Science from OVGU Magdeburg and a Bachelor’s in Computer Science from Pune University. With over 4.5 years of expertise, in oil and gas, manufacturing, supply chain, and process monitoring. She has been working with XITASO for 2.5 years.

Julian Gleißner, Robotics Researcher at XITASO since 2024

Julian Gleißner has done his Bachelor’s in Engineering Science at TUM before completing his Master’s in Robotics, Systems and Control at ETH Zurich. Since 2024 he has joined XITASO as a Robotics Researcher for an industrial PhD specializing in synthetic data generation and perception for mobile robots.
