Abstract
Scrum is one of the leading agile software development processes. Numerous conference talks, certification offers and specialized consulting companies drive managers and software developers into using this framework in their projects. But with all things that are shiny and new, people tend to overestimate its merits but also to underestimate the changes needed in their organizations, their processes and habits and last but not least their software architectures. The talk gives an insight into practical implementations of Scrum in complex environments and the problems that arise beyond the „Hello World“ of Scrum as well as possible solutions.

Andreas Gärtner hat Informatik studiert, zu einer Zeit, als Java gerade begann C++ abzulösen, Objektorientierung noch das einzig relevante Architekturkonzept war und niemand die Vorherrschaft relationaler Datenbanksysteme in Frage stellte. Scrum war zu dieser Zeit in der Regel nur hartgesottenen Rugby-Fans ein Begriff. Andreas ist heute Partner bei Senacor Technologies und hat erlebt, wie die (IT-)Welt sich verändert hat. Als langjähriger Product Owner in einem Softwareentwicklungsprojekt kann er aus einem reichen Erfahrungsschatz berichten.
Rolf Kintscher hat in seiner Berufslaufbahn Softwareentwicklung aus vielen Perspektiven erlebt: Großprojekte in C++, Java aus der Entwicklerperspektive, teilweise in MDA Umgebungen. Später als Bindeglied zwischen Fachseite und Entwicklung. Heute steht er häufig als Projektleiter in der Verantwortung, große Vorhaben in Time & Budget zu liefern und sieht sowohl die Erwartungen der Auftraggeber als auch die Bedürfnisse der Entwicklung. Ob Scrum das Leben hier einfacher macht?
