Upcoming well-paid freelancer jobs
There are a limited number of upcoming student jobs available on a freelance basis, paid better than the highest Siemens student tier. Students will use professional tools to analyse commercial software code and identify the use of open source software in that commercial code. The existing tools make this easy, but the job still requires reading source code (C or Java) and judging whether this is open source code that was copied or not. Then, students will derive the software architecture using the structural information provided by the tool. Time-frame is the second half of this year + early 2018. Please talk to Prof. Riehle, if interested.
Upcoming student jobs at research group
We have several student jobs open in our research group. Topics are the same as listed above and then research and development jobs in our projects, i.e.
- Sweble (a Github for wikis),
- QDAcity (a web app for qualitative data analysis),
- Inner Source (a web app for code repository analysis) and the
- Open Data Service, an open source project for a data warehouse for open data.
Please talk to Prof. Riehle, if interested.
Upcoming Ph.D. (Mitarbeiter) positions
We have two upcoming project-based Ph.D. positions (fully paid Mitarbeiter positions):
- The first is to research “agile feature teams against reusable component owners”. Agile feature teams find it hard to maintain architectural integrity and high quality of reusable components touched by their features. How to reconcile this?
- The second is to build a tool that allows software architects to model the architecture of a software product as a component graph and to develop algorithms that can derive various properties, e.g. final resulting license, overall exposure to known vulnerabilities, etc.
Be smart, talk to us early!
