This project is one of the MADE Summer 2023 Projects implemented by our students. We run these projects every semester, please be in touch if you are interested in participating!

Author: Niklas Markert

Abstract: The aim of this project is to investigate if there is a relationship between the charging point infrastructure and electromobility in Germany. Therefore, it uses data provided by the Bundesnetzagentur about the charging point infrastructure in Germany and data provided by the Kraftfahrt-Bundesamt about the new registrations of cars in Germany. A data pipeline loads the data from the internet, processes it and stores it into a database. From this, it gets analyzed to find a possible relationship between the amount of charging points available and the rate of electric car new registration. For this, we looked at the development over the time and the distribution among the different German states (“Bundesländern”).
