A final thesis, be it a Bachelor or a Master thesis, is just another graded course at the University. It is best described as a (comparatively) large individual project, 15 ECTS in case of a Bachelor thesis and 30 ECTS in case of Master thesis.
A final thesis is a one-off affair, so we need to agree on the topic. We make thesis topics available at https://oss.cs.fau.de/fun so please have a look there. Usually, topics are tied to our research projects so you best read up on them before you approach us. Also, not all projects are offering topics at any given point in time, so make sure to check availability as well.
We maintain separate pages that explain the process, but you only need to go there if you have agreement with us on a given topic.
