Final Thesis: Vendor-led Open Source Consortia Motivation and Success Factors
Abstract: In recent times vendor-led open source consortia are one of the leading and fast growing topics and it’s a favoured and widely accepted concept with many organisations. The purpose of this thesis is to get further insights about the motivation and the reasons responsible behind companies joining consortium. Additionally, the challenges faced while joining and being a part of a consortium are also being discussed. The qualitative survey approach has been used during the study and the data sources are interviews. Using a qualitative survey research approach, this paper provides first-hand information from the people involved in a variety of roles in these organisations.
