The AMOS Project Summer 2025
We are happy to report that the summer 2025 AMOS projects are right around the corner. This semester’s industry partners Siemens Energy, BUILD.ING, Meisterwerk, and GRAU DATA will be working with our computer science student teams of size 8-10 people each to develop open-source software they’d like to see and use. The projects are:
- Siemens Energy: EMBArk orchestration framework
- BUILD.ING: Intelligent building document management
- Meisterwerk: Smart routing for field service workers
- GRAU DATA: KI-getriebenes Testen (in German only)
Demo day registration
On July 16th, 2025, from 10:15am CET to 11:45am, the project teams will show the results of their hard programming work at the AMOS demo day! Please register if you are curious to learn what our students can do for you. (Registration is already open.) The event will take place online.
Looking for guest speakers
For the current semester, we are now looking for industry guest speakers who would like to share some of their knowledge and experiences about agile methods and open-source software development with our students. If you would like to give a talk, please get in touch with me. Available time slots are Wed June 25th and Wed July 9th, always at 10:15am CET for up to 90 minutes, all online.
About The AMOS Project
The AMOS Project is a course at FAU Erlangen, TU Berlin, and FU Berlin. Student Scrum teams develop open-source software based on industry (partner) requirements. Each student invests 300h of work. The AMOS Project runs every semester (every six months). Industry participates to get open source work done, recruit students, and benefit from student innovation.
We have run more than 100 projects with industry now, and you can see some of the results on GitHub or as demo videos on the professorship’s blog. We are always looking for industry partners to sponsor a project. Please be in touch if you are interested.
