Abstract: Everyone has heard about deep learning. In this lecture, we dive into the mathematics of deep learning. We explore, how a neural network works on the inside, and thereby gain an understanding of the opportunities we might gain from neural networks. We point out problems we are confronted with and explain, where possible, how to address these problems. After this lecture, you should be able to build models by using transfer learning and have a basic understanding of adversarial noise.

Speaker: Robert graduated in Technomathematics at the Technical University of Munich. He employed his mathematical insights in projects ranging from numerical simulation to machine learning. At msg systems AG, he is helping to push forward machine learning as a member of the Center of Competence Data Science.
